My keyboard is making accent marks when I try to make quotes?
When I type the quotation marks, nothing shows up, but if I type a letter afterwards, it makes a letter with an accent mark: this is when I do the quotes, and a capital A - Ä ä, ü, ï, ö, ÿ with single quotes - á, é, í, ó, ú, ý, ç Why does it keep doing that? I can only make quotation marks if I type them twice in a row and erase one of them. This is REALLY annoying. How do I fix it? I tried both of those suggestions and it's still doing this! áááááááááááá

- Just check your keyboard configuration and set to English USA configuration, that's supposed to be enough to fix the problem, looks like you have Spanish keyboard configuration now. Good luck!
- Actually, with the umlauts over the vowels it looks a bit like German to me. Start ->Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Click the little arrow on the left of the drop down box and choose "US English", click "Apply". Then click the "Languages" tab. Under "Text Services and Input Languages" click "details". On the "Settings" tab, Make sure "English (United States) -US" is selected as The default input language. In the "Installed Services" box below, highlight any undesired keyboard language services and then click "remove" for each one. Make sure you use "Add" to put in "EN English (United States) Keyboard . US" if it isn't already there. Then on the "Advanced" tab choose "English (United States)" in the drop down box at the top for "Language for non-Unicode programs". At the bottom of that page put a check mark in the box for "Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile", under the "Default User Account Settings". Then click "Apply", then "OK", until the Language application control interface and Control Panels close. This should fix you right up. : )
