1. You should be able to select the quotes you need direct from the book. Look at how Jem and Scout's characters develop through the story and how they mature.
2. Sparknotes is great! it tells you the whole summary, each character's roles and importance, summary of each chapter, important quotes, and literary devices, analysis. its great! but yes, reading the book is the best way.
