How can I make my older dog a therapy dog? I want her to stay living with me but to help others like in ...?

1. I think your dog is already used to people,so it won't get so excited. And it will be best time to train to help. But basic command like sit,come,heel.... Stroking the dog is also a therapy too. Don't worry

One of the best ways to do this is to find a local group (most hospitals will be able to tell where to find one) and find out what their specific requirements are. Good luck.
4. First they are licensed as a Good Neighbor dog. They have to be temperment tested. Then you put them through rigorus training in all types of situations to assure they can handle things like noises, kids crawling on them, pulling their tails, yelling, wheel chairs, all the things that they might come into contact with. I have done it for years and I love it.
