Ava Make Up Essentials

I need some quick make-up tips for family pictures. Can you help me?

I'm 27 years old and I can count on one hand how many times i've worn make-up and all of those times it was applied by someone else that wears it (so they knew what they were doing). The only thing I've ever applied was Lip liner and that was followed by gloss.Anyway I'm going to take Family pictures with my husband and son this weekend and I need some quick tips.I want to look as natural as possible.I have clear skin & I'm brown skinned.I am a black woman and I said before I want to look as natural as possible with just a hint of color! SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE.

  1. The best makeup for brown skins would be colours from pale beige to rich brown. Dark colours need shades that will complement their skin tones. Use foundations and powder compacts according to your colour. If the exact shade you would like is not available then select a shade that is closest to your neck colour and add a little distilled water to make it more translucent. On dark circles apply Foundation colour which is one shade lighter than the shade applied on the face. This will make dark circles around the eyes look lighter. Brown mascara looks beautiful on dark colour. A black eye pencil rimming the eyes can give a stunning impression. Soft eye shadow in brown giving the winged doe-eyed look would be excellent, this should blend into the upper brow bone, from a soft brown to soft brick brown. Soft brown eye shadow used on the lower lashes would complete the entire effect. Lipstick shades of maroon or brown will look good on brown skin. Blusher shades in Maroon and brown will go well. Good Luck. Hope the picture session will be a memorable one for u n ur family! :)
  2. Okay! Makeup:opaque primary colors like blue and red can look very harsh on film. Stick to sheer nuetral shades-they'll enhance your features with owerpowering your face! Photo lights exaggerate shine. Use a little matte- finish foundation to get even, shine-free complexion. & since you have clear skin i would also perfer a tinted moisturizer! Apply just a little to your whole face!
  3. If you want to look natural and beautiful....head toward sally's and get you some savvy powder ...comes in two...apply light then the darker...then use white shadow on lower eyelid . if you have dark hair / then use brown on the center of eye after applying the white / move next to your brows and apply white there. you will be the most attractive woman there. Now what you want to do is : line your lips with medium brown lipliner and apply lip gloss / colorless. liquid eyeliner to the top of eye to bring the photo to a eye catcher. you will love the results...lisa lwhts8@yahoo.com alloutcleaning@bellsouth.net if you need more help email me at either email addresses ! 4. remember less is more. if your playing up your eyes keep you lips natural or vise versa. good luck. p.s: and the best make up of all is a massive smile. so say cheese.......
  5. just a little mascara, line your lips like you do, just a hint of gloss, don't want the shinny glare popping off the picture, you say your skin is clear...lucky you... but anyways...a really light touch of blush on the apples of the cheeks, to define your face, i think you will be beautiful...
  6. if you decide you do want to use a foundation and powder, go with a light weight foundation like the new shimmer sheers from neutregena, I used it as a test before it came out, and I must say, you can't really tell you have it on at all, dust your face with a powder to match your skin tone using a kabuki brush, or one similar, use a black mascara to make your eyes stand out more, if you want to add color, don't match it too much with your lips, your lips should be a light shimmery champange color lined with a wine colored lipliner pencil. maybe a soft matte pink for your eyelids if you opt for it. the blush would range from a light pink to a deep burgandyish color depending on the richness of your skin tone, and only apply a light amount sweeping from the apples of your cheeks towards your ears and back to blend well.
  7. Start with your eyes...eyeliner and maskera, then use a darker color on your bottom lid and a lighter color on your top lid going all the way to the brow. if you blend the lighter color in the corners of your eye near your nose the whole eye opens up. Move on to your cheeks...choose three shades of blush dark, medium, light (Cover Girl has a blush set called instant cheekbones, that takes all the guess work out of picking shades) use the darkest color in your cheek hollow(make a fish face!) middle color on the highest part of you cheek bone near your hair line, then move on to the apples (the part right under your eye) use the lightest color here. Last your lips... if they are thin you can use a lip liner, if not just use gloss. Done. It might sound like a lot but it looks natural and enhances the features on any face. Good luck this weekend.
  8. use nutreal colors like copper color type of color to make your eyes glow and the eyes tell it all in pictures especially in christmas pictures it will look good and show and lip stick color yuni or yumi from bareminerals u caN get at ulta thats all u need your face will glow and itll look natural at the same time
