Does anyone know any secrets on how to make a nasty cold sore go away?

1. try arnica you get it from a chemist. it cost about £5.
2. poke it with a needle to drain the little fluid pockets. then take a cottonball with alcohol on it....and hold it on there a few times a day. It burns a bit, but it will be gone in a 2 days.
3. You could try soemthign like Lipactin or Blistex [for cold sores. You can go to Shoppers drug mart or another similar type store with a pharmacy [London Drugs?] and ask the clerk for cold sore medication. Try to let it dry out and do NOT pick at it, this will only cause it to bleed, in which case it would then have to re-heal and continue healing afterwards. Also, try Abreva once your cold sore is gone. Abreva is to be used to get rid of cold sores BEFORE they have decided to land themselves somewhere on your body/face. When you feel a cold sore coming, put some Abreva on the to-be-infected area and it should hopefully go away! Just keep the cold sore dry, purchase some cold sore medication (make sure it is medication for when the cold sore is actually there), and keep your hands/fingers/whatever from touching it! 4. I used to get nasty cold sores on my lip and now I get them on my back and they are called shingles. It is the same virus that causes them only shingles are huge compared to the ones that form on the lip. I get rid of it as soon as I feel the first tingle that tells me it's coming by putting full strength apple cider vinegar on it. Then mentally tell myself not to touch or scratch them. Being on your lip you would want to apply the vinegar often since it is a wet area. Just put the vinegar on a q-tip and put it on the cold sore. It will burn a little but can stop an outbreak before it gets bad. I have used this treatment over and over and it has never failed me. The smell of the vinegar dissepates quickly, try it, it has done wonders for me.

6. The secret is abreva.Wash your hands after you touch your cold sore,it's very contagious.If you touch your eyes before you wash your hands,you can give yourself herpes of the eye.Be CAREFULL!
