Prom Hairstyle tips for long extremely hard to curl hair.?

My hair will not hold a curl, I have tried hot rollers, lots of hairspray, braiding it, and it still will NOT curl. I really want curly hair for prom but not a perm, If anyone can point me in the direction of some nice hairstyles that would be awesome.

1. Get some curling products from the store. My friend has hair to her waist, and she uses some curling stuff she got from walmart, and it looks pretty good! If not, go to a salon or ask someone who works at one.
2. professional curling iron will work best. use mousse, after washing .
