Best application and interview tips for an internal job promotion?
I work for a great company doing entry level stuff. I've worked there since July. I have nearly completed my Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with an emphasis in Human Resources. Just today my company announced that they are hiring a new Human Resource Representative!!! I looked over the job description and it sounds EXACTLY like what I want to do! I'm also very well qualified for the job, according to the qualifications they posted. Now, I just have to apply for this job and hopefully they'll call me for an interview. Any tips you can give me?

- Use most of your question in the cover letter on your resume! It's great!
- kudos on the Masters in IO... I work in the world of corporate training and OD, and can't think of a better job in the world! Here are my suggestions: 1. Do some soul searching on if this is the best job for you, or if it just is appealing because it will get you out of entry level rut. 2. Have a conversation with your manager letting him/her know that you're about you finish your degree, and you're looking to take the next step. Depending on the firm either ask "What do I have to do to get to the next level" or express interest on the specific postion and ask who you need to talk to.
