What are some good beauty tips?

Or places I can find them? I am competing in a beauty pageant and would like tips relating to it. Anything would be awesome. Thanks:D I don't mean common sense stuff. I know to wash my face and I know how much makeup to wear. I'm asking on ways to apply, something besides washing my face to keep acne away, something of that sort
