Make up for the wedding?
What is airbrushed make up exactly the benefits the negatives? The make up artist said this is what she will be doing, is it better or worse? I am paying like 3400 for hair and make up from this salon for 4 people so I don't want to be scammed out of my money, and I know NOTHING about make up. Yes I am paying it and I am in NYC. Like right in Midtown (aka scam city) Not to mention we really needed them to come to hotel so that is extra also. Oh yeah and mani and pedis. I forgot to mention. I am doing a test run, but honestly i dont know one compared to the other like what it should look like. I also will wash it off before i leave so i dont know how it will look after a few hours. Its actually very average some people were quoting me at 6000. Most around 4000. None under 2900.

- I'm a wedding consultant and I recommend airbrush makeup over regular. Airbrush holds up through, sweat, tears, and almost anything else you throw it's way. It'll stay on and look fresh longer.
- You're paying $850 each for hair and makeup? Is this your regular salon? That price seems steep, even in you're in NYC. A fine salon in my area might charge $200 each on the very high end. Wow! Good luck! All I can think is YIKES! I believe with the airbrushing, you get a more flawless finish than traditional makeup could offer, so that's a def. plus.
- can you get her to do it once so you can see beforehand exactly what you are going to look like? just wondering. i would think that would be something that of course you would do, to make sure she does not make you look different to the point where you are uncomfortable?
- if you get a good person airbrush is suppose to be great, however i did a pretrial with someone who did airbrush poorly and she caked it on my face i could feel it two days later and it was a different color! so i would do a prettrial that way you know what you are getting.
- It does seem pretty steep, and if I were you I would definitely leave it on as long as I could before washing it off. That's the point of a test run--not just to check the colors and the style but to see how it holds up to sweat and tears and hugs and pictures (take a few snapshot pics of yourself to see how candids will look). I know I tried 4 different types of waterproof eyeliner to make sure I got what I wanted. If you can't really test it, maybe reschedule. There's no point in paying that much money to not know how its going to last, and if you're going to like it.
