I need to wear authenticly made egyptian make-up for a project next week. I found multiple recipes to make...

kohl, their eyeliner. It is made by smashing lead and water into a paste. Do you think it would be safe to do this with pencil lead and apply it in front of the class with a brush. Will it hurt my eyes/ vision/ breathing/ health?

1. egyptians suffered from a wide variety of eye infections and illnesses related to the constant exposure to lead, it is NOT a good idea to try to re-create their mixtures and use them on yourself. Pencil lead, is carbon, not lead and could also damage your eyes. I would use modern day make up to show the style, but would only explain the recipes and mixtures they used and why you would rather not apply those to yourself.
