What do you think of this haircut/color?

Right now my hair is medium length medium blonde. Im completely tired of it and want something new. Now, i look best as a blonde.. BUT... i wanted a little "edge" instead of being just a boring cookie cutter blonde... so, this is what i was thinking. The top would be platinum like in the picture.. but instead of black underneath... a red. The red would be a color that was a big contract from the platinum but not too "freaky" since i do have a 9-5 job. Now, keep in mind.. im 24... does this look like im trying to be a punk teenager? 1. i would stick with a light brown under. it should look great!
2. I think instead of doing the whole top a color and the whole bottom a color, it looks a bit less cliche if you lift up the very top layer of your hair, and put big chunks of the color under there, but not all the way through, and only for a couple layers. it mixed in nicely without completely disappearing or looking trashy.
3. well, this is what i had once.. like have it all one colour then have chunks of another colour in the layers looks really good :) especially if you have it up coz you can see the different colours, but means that the hair isnt just 2 seperate chunks of colour
