secrets..?

why do peopel keep secrets from there family or best friends i really dont know why. one of my friends keep secrest from me and his familey and keeps on lieing any sug's? he keeps lieing about.... ok example "ok im telling you the hole truth what more doyou want" but hes totaly still keeping stuff ok for me its not some big secret but hes acting like it is just to clear this up a little bit hes told me he big part but..ok i know im keeping this kinda hiden but some of the people that go on here know who i am and there fo rknow him so i cant go telling his secrets but ummm well ok lets pretend i have add ok no big thing but i judt dont want any one to know my parent sknow of corce but not my too younger sisters im 18 shes 17 and the other 14 ok and i will tell him but not the hole truth about it(he got something kinda like it not reallt thoes not liek add but ya i'll go on) ok but i wont tell my sisters cuz they cant handdle it ok add not big thng half of amirica has it its not going to kill me (just like his thing) he wont tell anyone i was the first person he told besides his parents and i just wish hed not act like it some huge thing ok i dont know what else tosay you can ask ? to i'll try to answer them

1. some people just can't say things. I know i want to tell people information and secrets but im afriad of actually saying it aloud. I don't know why but they may be embarassed or think people will not like them for what they are keeping inside. IF he wants to tell you secrets, he will, you just have to be patient.

7. if he is still in denial about his secret or doesnt want to do anything to rectify it (assuming its a skeleton type secret) than dont expect him to be shouting it from the rooftops anytime soon. sometimes you have to be ready to confront your demons before letting others hear what they are.

11. There can be several reason's that a person will keep a secret from family and/or friends. There's the fear of hurting them. They think that they are protecting them by not telling them. Another is a fear that they will be dissappointed in them for doing/not doing something. Fear of being an outcast. There's so many different reasons that someone may lie. Some are more reasonable and rational then others.
12. In most peoples' minds lying is a way to avoid hurting someone especially if its a big lie. A little lie is nothing compared to a big one. Secrets are meant to be kept so no one gets hurt. It is when the secret is discovered that people get hurt. So if you really don't want to know the truth don't ask. Break off the friendship if the person is not being truthful with you. If you are really friends, he should be able to tell you anything. Not unless he's afraid you will tell his family. If he trusts you maybe he might but I think he thinks you won't be able to keep his secret to yourself.
13. everyone have at least one secret that they dont want anyone to know. i know i have some. it's not lying. it's just, not telling the whole story. if u say u have none.. ur probably lying.
14. because your friend doesnt trust you, or his family, to accept him after confiding....maybe if he felt that his relationships wouldnt change and that he would still be accepted, loved, and not asked to change he wouldnt keep as many secrets... (not implying anything that you have done wrong) on the same note, people are entitled to have secrets. there is some things i would only share with my lover or with certain friends. people are different. they change the environment they are in by the nature of who they are. Humans are great adapters and will react differently, and be different, in different environments....it doesnt make them bad people
15. everybody wants privacy that's why they keep a secret for themselves, for them to live the way they want and maybe they don't want to hurt anybody that's why they keep it to themselves. its a normal thing!
